Reality Self-Defense

Welcome to Reality Self-Defense, conveniently located one block away from Bridgewater State College. 

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide our students with high quality, personalized, martial arts instruction in styles that are proven effective. 

We offer classes for people of all ages: children, teens and adults. We invite you to take two free trial lessons in either Okinawan Uechi-Ryu karate or Brazilian jiu-jitsu before you decide whether or not to join our dojo.

In the photo on the right, Sensei Joseph Pomfret (center) is receiving his title belt for winning the 1997 Uechi-Ryu Karate middleweight world championship in kumite (fighting). Sensei Pomfret has won two world middleweight championship titles and trains his students to fight hard, fair, and with honor. He stresses providing a safe training environment for his students, thus allowing them to develop their individual skills without fear of injury.
